Product videos for apps made in Perth
With hundreds or thousands of apps being launched every day, how do you create momentum for your online creation? It helps if you build a story around the app, so your network can relate to what it really does for them. If your app is a clever piece of technology, then zoom in on the basic human benefits it produces, rather than detailing the specs.
Coffee
For I Send Coffee (dot com), we started the brainstorm process with story-lines that would explain the app in detail. Showing screens, and explaining the mechanics of an app, that allows you to send someone a coffee voucher, seemed the logical first step. Then our creative team stepped in and gently nudged us all to focus on the feeling. Coffee is me-time. Coffee is a ritual. Buying someone a coffee is a gesture. So sending someone a coffee voucher should build on all these nice emotions, or not?
This is how the Isendcoffee.com video was scripted. With eye for detail, and particularly for the great subtle feelings that coffees, gift vouchers, and coffee moments contain. Our Creative Director directed the team to combine coffee stats, app interface footage and a touch of reality. The end result is a video that has the full flavour of coffee and “giving”, without being cheesy.
Grab their attention
Product videos for apps do one major thing for you, as an app developer. Instead of hoping to be lucky, so your audience reads copy for a couple of minutes before they decide to engage…or not…We simply show it in 1 minute. An animation video combined with real Perth footage does exactly that. It holds the viewer’s attention long enough to decide this is actually a really cool app. Long enough to decide they want to use it or tell their friends. For coffee shop managers it means they get it in under 2 minutes.
Hold their attention
It’s a proven fact that on websites with copy and images we take about 7 seconds to decide if we’re going to stay or search elsewhere. And that with a video, we extend that decision time-frame with up to 2 minutes, if the video manages to
hold our attention. Which is exactly why we’re so proud of this video, because it held my attention long enough to start using IsendCoffee.com.
So please get in touch. Discussing and then creating product videos for apps is something we’re passionate about and we’re good at it.
