At MultiMediaMakers we are very passionate about the concept of the “college video”. It’s a concept that we introduced in Perth for our clients in the Education Industry. Schools and Colleges need authentic communication with their communities of students, families, staff, teachers, alumni, prospects, and the wider community. So when we picked the ingredients for a typical college video, we used TV style journalism, to capture interview content that looks and sounds authentic. We added professional script writing, to align this editorial work with the overall marketing messages. And for our “college video” model we also use highly trained professionals who produce affordable and efficient short videos for the College’s YouTube strategy.
So what’s the core of the MultiMediaMakers approach to college videos? We create authentic stories, based on the unique personality and voice of a College. While marketing spin is produced mainly around the identity of the College, we create video content that gives the viewer a feel for the actual output: the students. By making the stories about them, and working with them in our role as a documentary maker, we create far more engaging content than any big agency can ever come up with.
This college video is all about the new library at Penrhos College. It starts from the students and captures their acknowledgement and appreciation of the new building and its vibes. Creating this type of video requires a very rich combination of skillsets. From the initial concept, to editorial and journalistic assessment of the information. From choosing creative angles and perspectives, to guiding, assisting and directing students to perform small actions which – when edited together – will create a nice storyline for the college video. And the finishing touch is our visually-creative approach to motion graphics, adding the brand colours. We love it. If you love it too, please get in touch to talk about your own college videos.
