Marketing for Schools has become one of our niche activities since 2010, when we started applying the logic of TV news to school videos. Schools being the communities that they are, always have a supply of fresh stories, and an audience who is receptive and willing to be informed.
So we brought together marketing for schools, and formats like TV news and documentary. We applied over 25 years of media experience to create unique short videos that help Marketing Teams in school position their brand. The uniqueness of a brand often requires a fair bit of consultancy and strategy, before the record button is pushed.
And that’s exactly what the Marketing Department at Perth College has asked us to do. We worked with them to tease out relevant content and key messages, without creating marketing spin. We applied the basics of documentary production at their Positive Education Conference in October 2015, and interviewed a small group of experts on the topic of Positive Education, Positive Psychology and Wellbeing. The result is a documentary that now sits on the College’s YouTube channel as a flagship video, positioning the Perth College brand and making the college a pioneer in this area, “marketing for schools”.
Is Video Marketing For Schools Different to Other Marketing Campaigns?
We believe it is. Within the boundaries of a school community, communication with the target audiences is a balanced exercise. On one hand it’s about engaging with the current community of students, families and staff. And at the same time, a school has marketing objectives and wants to reach out to prospective parents who are browsing websites and YouTube channels looking for information. And for an emotional connection to what specific schools are offering. The key is to find a balance between left-brain information and right-brain information. And guess what? That’s what we’re good at. We script your videos so they touch the hearts of Mums and Dads who are looking into a school for their child. And we use our knowledge, experience and qualifications, as well as our professional ethics, to create unique documentary style content for your YouTube channel.
If your organisation can use a bit of positioning around a certain topic, please get in touch and let’s have a chat about your own marketing campaign, using the power of video, visual story-telling and documentary.
